South Africa qualified for the next round of the AFCON 2025 after claiming a 2-3 victory against Zimbabwe, MySportDab reports.
A late goal from Appollis made sure the game was won by Bafana Bafana who booked their place in the next round.
First Half ReportÂ
Both teams came into the match looking to secure a victory which would confirm their place in the next round.
Foster setup Moremi in the 7th minute which saw South Africa opened the goal scoring with a 0-1 lead as things progressed.
Fabisch delivered an assist which saw Maswanhise leveled things 1-1 in the 18th minute as both sides continued pushing with all they had before the first half ended.
Second Half ReportÂ
The match resumed with Foster 50th minute goal which restored the lead for Bafana Bafana who were ahead 1-2.
Once again Zimbabwe crawled back 2-2 in the 74th minute after an own-goal was scored by Modiba as the match carried on.
Appollis scored from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute making sure things turned 2-3 with little time left for both teams.
South Africa secured the three points from a 2-3 victory against Zimbabwe which made sure they finished the group stages second place with six points.
