Mozambique claimed a stunning 2-3 victory against Gabon in their AFCON 2025 second game, MySportDab reports.
The Mambas defiled all odds to claimed three points against a very solid side who narrowly missed out on World Cup ticket.
First Half Report
Both national teams did well enough from kickoff until the 37th minute when Catamo setup Bangal who made things 0-1.
Catamo doubled the advantage for Mozambique with a goal from the penalty spot which came in the 42nd minute as things turned 0-2.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a brilliant goal in the additional time which saw Gabon pulled one back before the first half ended with 1-2 between both teams.
Second Half Report
The game resumed with more that was needed for both teams to make happen knowing how important a victory will be for them after they both lost their first games.
Quembo setup Calila in the 52nd minute which saw the scoreline increased to 1-3 with more time left for the Gabonese players to try make a comeback which was still possible for them.
Moucketou-Moussounda scored in the 76th minute, but it wasn’t enough as Mozambique held on fine until the match came to an end 2-3 against Gabon who risk crashing out from the AFCON 2025 group stages.
