Victor Osimhen scored a brace as the Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Gabon 4-1 to qualify for World Cup qualifiers playoffs final, MySportDab reports.
It was an incredible scene between both teams who played under a rainy weather which had its part on the encounter.
First Half Report
Both national teams came into the match with high hopes of qualification after coming short as best second placed teams.
The Super Eagles had an early moment for a penalty call which was waived away despite VAR check as things carried on.
There was so many moments with Gabon also coming close, but their finishing wasn’t good enough to bring any trouble.
More missed opportunities came for both teams with Nigeria seeing more of them which they could not make happen.
The first half came to an end with both national teams holding themselves down to a 0-0 scoreline after 45 minutes.
Second Half Report
The action resumed again between both sides who had to make some tactical decisions to ensure they operate more freely.
Akor Adams gave the Super Eagles the lead with a goal in the 78th minute after an error saw things turned 1-0.
Mario Lamina made it 1-1 with his strike which deflected in and made sure the match became level in the 89th minute.
Extra Time Report
Nigeria resumed the extra time and went ahead to take the lead through Chidera Ejuke goal. The Sevilla man scored in the 98th minute to make it 2-1.
Victor Osimhen increased the lead with a wonderful finish in the 102nd minute which made sure it was 3-1.
Osimhen made it a brace for himself after another goal in the 110th minute which saw things turned 4-1.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria claimed a 4+1 victory against Gabon as they qualify for the African World Cup qualifiers playoffs final which take place on Sunday.
