Super Falcons star Chiamaka Nnadozie extended her reign as Africa’s best shot-stopper after clinching the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award for the third consecutive time at the 2025 CAF Awards held on Wednesday night in Rabat, Morocco, MySportDab Reports
The 24-year-old, who played a key role in Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON triumph earlier this year, beat Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi and South Africa’s Andile Dlamini to retain her crown.
Her consistent heroics cement her place as one of the most dominant goalkeepers on the continent.
Nigeria narrowly missed out on another major honour as Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade finished runner-up for the Women’s Player of the Year Award, which went to Morocco captain Ghizlane Chebbak.
Chebbak’s outstanding year, including a WAFCON golden-boot performance, earned her the prestigious title.
On the men’s side, Achraf Hakimi delivered the headline moment of the night by being named CAF Men’s Player of the Year, beating Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah.
The PSG defender became the first defender to win the award in 52 years, crowning an exceptional season in which he lifted the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1 title, and helped Morocco qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Morocco dominated the ceremony, sweeping multiple top honours. The Morocco U-20 team was named Men’s National Team of the Year after their historic World Cup victory, while Doha El Madani and Othmane Maamma claimed the women’s and men’s young player awards respectively.
Nigeria celebrated another major honour as the Super Falcons were crowned Women’s National Team of the Year for the third straight time following their WAFCON triumph.
Other winners included Yassine Bounou (Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year), Fiston Mayele (Interclub Player of the Year), Pyramids FC (Men’s Club of the Year), and Cape Verde’s Bubista (Men’s Coach of the Year).
The star-studded night blended football excellence with African culture, highlighted by performances from Awilo Longomba, Douaa Lahyaoui, and Fuse ODG.
