The game kept on going with so much work coming from the Premier League side who needed to make a comeback.
Patrik Shick increased the lead after an assist from Maza which made sure it was 0-2 as they pushed on going forward.
The goal happened in the 54th minute leaving Pep Guardiola with more troubles after falling off against Newcastle United.
The match came to an end with Bayer Leverkusen claiming all three points from a 0-2 victory against Manchester City who lose another game in a row.
