The Super Falcons of Nigeria cruised to a 0-2 victory against Benin in their first leg qualifiers, MySportDab reports.
The WAFCON Champions opened up their qualifiers campaign with a commanding victory in Togo.
First Half Report
There were a lot of eyes on the African Champions to produce in their first game after claiming the WAFCON title.
The Benin Women’s team did well enough to try and hold off play until they conceded the opening goal.
Deborah Abiodun delivered a wonderful pass which saw Chinwendu Ihezuo finished off in the 24th minute that made it 0-1.
The game carried on with Esther Okoronkwo netting the second after Deborah Abiodun assist again saw things turned 0-2.
The additional time goal was enough to make sure the first half came to a conclusion with the scoreline staying 0-2.
Second Half Report
The game resumed with a lot of action which also saw the home side coming close on a couple of occasions which they could have easily scored.
They couldn’t break each other down despite the chances as the game entered additional time with still 0-2 scoreline.
Nigeria Super Falcons ended up claiming a 0-2 victory against Benin in their first WAFCON qualifiers match for 2026.
