George Russell produced a commanding drive to win the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, fending off Max Verstappen and Lando Norris to secure Mercedes’ first victory of the season, MySportDab Reports.
But the bigger story belonged to McLaren, who sealed the Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship with six races remaining — equalling Red Bull’s 2023 record.
Oscar Piastri’s fourth-place finish, coupled with Norris’ podium, delivered 27 points — more than enough to hand McLaren back-to-back team titles and their 10th in history. 
The result also trimmed Piastri’s lead over Norris in the Drivers’ Championship to 22 points, adding fresh intrigue to the in-house title battle.
Russell, starting from pole, made a flawless getaway to hold off Verstappen into Turn 1, but the real drama unfolded behind.
Norris surged from fifth, diving past Kimi Antonelli and clashing with teammate Piastri in a bold move that left the Australian fuming over team radio. “That’s not fair,” Piastri complained after McLaren refused to instruct Norris to yield.
Despite Verstappen’s gearbox troubles, the top four maintained their order after pit stops, with overtaking proving nearly impossible on the tight Marina Bay circuit.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton followed Antonelli home, while Fernando Alonso, Oliver Bearman, and Carlos Sainz completed the top 10.
In sweltering 28°C conditions, Singapore was officially designated Formula 1’s first-ever “Heat Hazard” race, allowing drivers to use optional liquid-cooled vests — though several, including Verstappen, declined.
For Russell, it marked a return to the top step of the podium, while McLaren’s dominance confirmed their status as the sport’s current powerhouse — celebrating their latest championship long before the season’s end.
