Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen etched his name into club history on Thursday night, scoring twice in a commanding 3-1 win over Bodø/Glimt to set a new European goalscoring record for the Turkish giants, MySportDab Reports.

The 26-year-old, who came off the bench in Galatasaray’s previous 2-1 league win over Basaksehir, returned to the starting lineup and wasted no time making an impact.

Just three minutes into the match, Osimhen opened the scoring with a crisp finish into the bottom corner, leaving goalkeeper Nikita Haikin helpless.

The former Napoli forward doubled his tally in the 33rd minute, capitalizing on a defensive error from Haitam Aleesami. Pouncing on the misplaced pass, Osimhen raced through on goal and coolly slotted home to make it 2-0.

Galatasaray continued to dominate after the break, and Yunus Akgün made it 3-0 on the hour mark, firing in from close range after another mistake by the Norwegian visitors.

Osimhen was substituted in the 73rd minute to a standing ovation, replaced by Mauro Icardi, before Andreas Helmersen netted a late consolation for Bodø/Glimt.

With his brace, Osimhen surpassed Burak Yilmaz’s record of scoring in six consecutive European games for Galatasaray, a feat last achieved in 2012.

The Nigerian striker’s latest performance extends his run to seven straight European matches with a goal, solidifying his status as one of the continent’s most in-form forwards.

The 2025 CAF Player of the Year nominee will look to extend his remarkable streak when Galatasaray visit Ajax at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, as Okan Buruk’s men continue their push for European glory.
