South Africa played out a 1-1 draw against Nigeria which put Bafana Bafana in a better position over the Super Eagles who sink their hopes, MySportDab reports.
It was a good contest between both National teams who have always had it for each other anytime they clash in a competitive game.
First Half Report
There was so much on the line for the Bafana Bafana and Super Eagles of Nigeria after Rwanda threw themselves into the contest by beating Zimbabwe.
It was South Africa who made the most of ball possession and creating opportunities which saw them getting a feel of Nwabali on the other end.
The game continued until Nigeria conceded an own-goal through William Troost Ekong who put the ball inside the net to make things 1-0 in the 25th minute.
Things carried on with the Super Eagles pressing back as they looked to restore priorities as their chances of closing the gap stood against them.
A 45th minute goal from Calvin Bassey was able to make the scoreline level 1-1 before both National teams headed inside for the break after first half.
Second Half Report
The second half was the deciding moment which both sides needed to make sure they sealed their fate after a hard first 45 minutes.
Both the Bafana Bafana and Super Eagles were very careful on the pitch to ensure they don’t make any mistake that could lead to any goal happening.
There was barely any clear chance of both team getting the lead with most of the play happening in the midfield with a lot of tactical works.
Nothing could separate both teams as the game came to an end with South Africa 1-1 Nigeria after 90 minute of action.
