Ecuador claimed a narrow 1-0 victory against Argentina to push themselves second in the group standing, MySportDab reports.
The match saw two red cards being handed out to both teams leaving them to finish with 10 players each.
First Half Report
The match was a heated one which saw cards flying around between both teams all through the first half.
Three yellow cards were handed out under 26 minutes of action played between both national team for the day.
Nicolas Otamendi was show a straight red card in the 31st minute in what came as a no surprise with how things were going.
Another yellow card was handed to the home team as the game carried on with more close watch from the referee.
Valencia gave Ecuador the lead after converting from the penalty spot in additional time as the first half ended with 1-0 against Argentina.
Second Half Report
There was still the same chaos in the second half which produced more cards for both teams who were very physical.
Moises Caicedo was shown a second yellow in the 50th minute which automatically saw him being sent off as red.
More action continued with nothing changing how the scoreline looked for the encounter which entered the 80th minute.
The game ended with Ecuador claiming a 1-0 victory against World Cup Champions Argentina who played the game without Lionel Messi.
