The Seattle Sounders stunned Lionel Messi and Inter Miami with a 3-0 victory on Sunday to capture the Leagues Cup in front of a record 69,314 fans at Lumen Field, completing their collection of major North American trophies, MySportDab Reports.

Osaze De Rosario opened the scoring in the 26th minute, heading home a cross from Alex Roldan after earlier forcing Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari into a save.

The Sounders’ physical defense, led by Obed Vargas and Jackson Ragen, kept Messi and Miami’s high-priced attack at bay throughout a frustrating first half.

Miami pressed after the break, with Luis Suárez creating chances for Messi and Tadeo Allende, but neither could capitalize.

Seattle weathered the pressure and struck late. Roldan converted from the penalty spot in the 84th minute after Yannik Bright fouled Georgi Minoungou, before substitute Paul Rothrock sealed the win with an angled finish in the 89th.

The triumph adds to Seattle’s decorated resume, which already includes two MLS Cups, a Supporters’ Shield, four U.S. Open Cups, and a CONCACAF Champions Cup. They now stand as the first MLS team to win every major North American trophy.

Despite boasting a $46.8 million payroll—nearly triple Seattle’s $16.7 million—Miami struggled to break down the hosts’ disciplined defense, and frustrations boiled over in a scuffle at full-time.

Both finalists had already secured berths in the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup, but Seattle’s victory guarantees direct entry into the round of 16, keeping alive their dream of a future FIFA Club World Cup berth.
