Ruben Amorim Confirms BOLD Tactical Decision After Manchester Derby Loss

Manchester United manager has made his feelings clear on his tactical decision after a disappointing outing against cross-city rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, MySportDab reports.

United went into the game on the back of a rocky start to the season under the watch of the Portuguese tactician.

They had lost their opening fixture 1-0 at home against Arsenal before scraping to a late win against struggling Burnley in their second match.

They dropped points in their third fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage, playing out a 1-1 draw. This was then followed by a shock defeat and elimination by League Two side Grimsby in Carabao Cup second round before the international break.

After the break, under-pressure Amorim needed nothing less from a strong performance against City at Etihad to restore fans’ confidence.

However, it ended with another nightmare for the former Sporting Lisbon boss and his United minions.

An opening goal by Phil Foden and Erling Haaland’s brace condemned the falling giants to heavy 3-0 loss.

This result marked United’s eighth defeat in 31 Premier League matches under Amorim.

This has piled up pressure on the young manager with pundits blaming his ineffective tactical approach for the team’s misfortunes.

Nonetheless, he has remained adamant on the system despite fans apparently losing faith in it as well.

Speaking after the mauling at Etihad, the 40-year-old defiantly insisted he is not going to change even if it means being sacked.

‘’I am not going to change. When I want to change my philosophy, I will change. If not, you have to change the man,” he said.

The concern has also hinged on his £200m spend in the summer transfer window that has seem not to yield result.

It is understood that United hierarchy still retain utmost faith in the gaffer, but his future is likely to come under intense scrutiny in the coming weeks if results don’t improve.

He will look to return the team to winning ways when they play Chelsea in what is going to be another tough next fixture.
