Contrary to reports of the collapse of Nicolas Jackson’s slated move to Bayern Munich, the deal is now back on, MySportDab reports.
In one of the rare late dramas in the transfer window, Jackson was on the verge of sealing a move to Bayern Munich on loan when Chelsea withdrew the plug at the death, asking the player to return to the team.
Chelsea’s decision followed the unanticipated injury blow to the club’s top forward Liam Delap during their 2-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.
Facing the prospect of depleted attacking options for the season, the club made the late push to call off the move after having agreed terms with Bayern.
While Bayern were ready to oblige and hand off, it is understood Jackson’s camp were adamant on completing the move and had refused to travel back to England as ordered by Chelsea.
Meanwhile, reports had already surfaced that the deal is set to collapse following Chelsea’s decision to withdraw their consent.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano’s latest report, the move is on the table again as Chelsea have made another U-turn.
The report reveals Chelsea have been handed a boost after they successfully recall Marc Guiu from his loan deal to Sunderland.
Guiu is expected to fill in the gap left by Liam Delap hence the Blues still have the option of letting Jackson leave on loan as originally planned.
However, it is yet to be ascertained whether Bayern Munich will return to the negotiation table to complete the deal after accepting Chelsea’s initial move to call off the deal.
