Fulham have agreed to sign Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze, on loan from AC Milan, MySportDab reports.
The deal, worth €25 million, consists of a loan fee of about €3 million plus a €22 million obligation to buy clause.
Chukwueze joined Villarreal’s prolific youth setup in 2017, from local side Diamond Football Academy. After being initially assigned to the club’s Juvenil A squad, he made his senior debut with the reserves on 15 April 2018, coming on as a second-half substitute for Sergio Lozano in a 1–1 Segunda División B away draw against CE Sabadell FC.
Chukwueze made his first-team debut on 21 September 2018, replacing Nicola Sansone in a 2–2 home draw against Rangers, for the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League. He also made his Laliga debut on 5 November 2018, playing a 90-minute full play in a 1–1 home draw against Levante, for the 2018–19 La Liga.
Samuel Chukwueze moved to AC Milan for a reported fee of €28 million. He however struggled to make an impact for the Rosseneris. He scored just eight times and provided six assists in 70 appearances for the Milan-based side.
With most of his appearances coming as a substitute, he has struggled to cement his place as a starter, with the USMNT captain, Pulisic, preferred over him on the right wing.
In a bid to revitalize his career, he has signed a five year contract with Fulham and will be expected to complete his medicals today.
The Nigeria international will be Marco Silva’s third signing this season and will bring squad depth to the Cottagers as they fight for another top eight finish this season.
