Newcastle United have banished Isak from first-team training days after the player returned from his solo training with former club Real Sociedad, MySportDab reports.
According to reports, Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe masterminded the decision to exclude the Swedish forward from the first team due to what he considers as an ‘unprofessional conduct’ by the player.
Recall Isak and Newcastle United hierarchy have been locked in a seething fallout following the players’ exit nuances this summer.
After Liverpool expressed interest in signing the forward, Isak took revolting steps to push through a move to the Anfield club following Newcastle’s insistence on a no-sale decision.
He went as far as refusing to join the team’s preseason squad but traveled to Spain for a solo training with his former club Real Sociedad.
After the preseason tour, he rejoined the squad at Tyneside and was ready to join the season preparatory training with the transfer saga still brewing in the underground.
Now, according to The Mirror, Eddie Howe has further stoked the flames of the fallout by taking a drastic decision to bar Isak from training with the first team.
The English tactician considers Isak not qualified to train with the elite due to his attitude in the wake of Liverpool’s transfer interest.
This means the 25-year-old will be training with the team’s development squad until when the restriction is lifted by the manager.
It is yet unclear how long he will tarry in the peripheries, but it appears he may not be restored until the transfer saga and his future at the club are resolved.
Meanwhile, Liverpool backed out of the move for the striker after Newcastle turned down their offer. However, they are reportedly set to submit another bid should they invite for it after finding a replacement for the embattled and exit-bound attacker.
