Manchester City have entered the race to sign out-of-favour Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, MySportDab reports.
The Etihad club are on the verge of losing their key wingers and are pushing for more reinforcements.
They have loaned out Jack Grealish to Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on signing Savinho.
Head coach Pep Guardiola is reportedly a big fan of Rodrygo and is ready to go all out for the winger. Real Madrid are open to Rodrygo’s exit after he fell off the pecking order in new manager Xabi Alonso’s squad.
However, Los Blancos want as much as £100m before parting ways with the player. Rodrygo is open to a new challenge away from Santiago Bernabeu after his recent struggles.
Before City’s recent interest, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal were big mentions in the race for the player. Liverpool also reportedly showed interest, but are focusing on Newcastle forward Alexander Isak.
Notably, City’s interest in Rodrygo could be the game-changer in the race for the Brazilian forward. The Premier League giants is an attractive destination for the player compared to other rivals and could be a big addition to the squad.
However, it is yet unclear whether City could fork out as much as £100m to meet Real Madrid’s asking price for the forward.
Departing Jack Grealish remains the club’s most expensive signing after joining for £100m from Aston Villa in 2021.
Rodrygo has three years left on his Real Madrid contract and has 32 goals in 172 La Liga appearances for the club. He could be a third high-profile exit from the La Liga giants this summer after Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez.
