Man United manager Ruben Amorim has extended further Bryan Mbeumo’s planned debut date for the club, MySportDab reports.
United poached the highly rated attacker from Brentford in a deal worth £71m to bolster the club’s attacking ranks.
The deal was completed just in time for the Bees’ goal hero to join the team for the Premier League Summer Series in the United States.
However, he was far away from schedule to feature in the opening match against West Ham United at MetLife Stadium on Friday.
After missing the opening match, United fans had hoped to have him register his maiden appearance for the club in the next match against Bournemouth on Thursday.
However, such hopes have been blotted out as Amorim confirms a further delay on the player’s planned debut.
Speaking after the match against West Ham, the Portuguese tactician confirmed Mbeumo will not feature against Bournemouth, but is likely to be fully ready for the last match.
“He (Bryan Mbeumo) is adapting fast and doing well in training, but needs enough time to gel up and get ready to play.
“He is not doing to play the next one and we hope to him in the last game.”
United will trade tackles with Everton in the last match of the series at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday with Mbeumo’s debut now a matter of possibility, not a given.
Meanwhile, close sources reveal the Cameroon international has been in top shape training with his new Man United teammates in the USA and is hopeful of a starring debut for the Old Trafford club.
United’s other and first signing this summer, Matheus Cunha played a crucial role as the club eased past West Ham United 2-1 in the first match.
United fans will hope to have Mbeumo toe in that direction on his debut as expectations builds on him ahead of the next season.
