After the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final victory over Borussia Dortmund, Xabi Alonso attempted to address these speculations.
According to the former Bayer Leverkusen boss, his decision to drop Rodrygo to the bench is basically a technical/tactical move, not related to his future at the club as he considers the player key to his squad.
Despite Alonso’s soothing remarks, it is understood Rodrygo is more out of the Spaniard’s plans than in it and may likely take up a new challenge away from the Madrid-based outfit next season.
Amid these reports of his possible Santiago Bernabeu exit, Rodrygo has broken his silence in a one-word tweet on X followed by several loved-up emojis.
He wrote, “Vamos,” a Portuguese word for “Let’s go.” While not directly addressing his Los Blancos’future, the tweet apparently conveys his optimism and readiness to take up charge on with his career despite the current setbacks.
He is expected to meet with Real Madrid’s hierarchy soon to decide on his future. Meanwhile, Los Blancos’are understood to be open to his exit, but want at least £100m.
Liverpool and Arsenal have been big mentions in the race for the player, but it is now to his decision after talks with Los Blancos’ hierarchy.
