Liverpool aren’t dilly-dallying on their attempt to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer, MySportDab reports.
The Reds have been on the trail of the Swedish attacking sensation since January and have now made a concrete attempt to secure his services.
According to David Ornstein, the Premier League champions have submitted an insane £120m bid to Newcastle for the forward.
It is understood Newcastle don’t want to deal for Isak as they consider the forward key to their squad. Liverpool are aware of this no-sale decision but are hoping to force the Magpies’ hands with this crazy offer.
It is yet to be determined whether this offer will force Newcastle to change their no-sale decision on Isak. However, the former Real Sociedad forward will become the most expensive signing in Premier League history should they accept the offer.
Notably, Isak has three years left on his Newcastle United contract but is reportedly open to taking up a new challenge away from St James Park this summer.
According to close sources, he had even reached a gentleman agreement with Newcastle to leave this summer and had accepted personal terms with Liverpool.
While Newcastle United have yet to publicly give a nod to Isak’s transfer exit, they have reportedly resigned to the possibility of losing the player to Liverpool.
Hence, the search for his replacement had began. Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike has emerged as their replacement target and they have reportedly tabled a record €70m offer for the player.
