Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr have laid siege on the gates of Old Trafford to secure the services of Man United’s wantaway winger, MySportDab reports.
United, under new manager, Ruben Amorim, is expected to undergo a major overhaul this summer with some key players set to leave.
Homegrown star and England forward Marcus Rashford is already the first casualty of this expected overhaul.
Rashy has now pit tent with United’s European arch-rivals Barcelona on a loan deal for the second season in a row.
Recall the 26-year-old spent the remaining part of last season on loan at Aston Villa after an infamous fallout with Amorim and is again set for a one-season loan spell with Barcelona with a buy option.
Other names on United’s chopping block this summer are Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia and Antony – the latter were also on loan spells away from Old Trafford last season and are expected to leave this summer other by loan or permanent transfer.
Al-Nassr have positioned themselves to take advantage of this overhaul with one of the out-of-favour players emerging as their top target.
According to talkSport, the Saudi giants are set to make a shock move for Antony to bolster their attacking ranks.
Antony spent the remainder of last season at Real Betis and was the talk of the season with his showstopping performances.
He made 17 La Liga appearances for the club, scoring five goals with two assists and was also instrumental to the team’s run-up to the Conference League final.
A 766-minute spell win the European third tier for the Green-and-Whites saw him bag seven goal contributions, comprising four goals and three assists.
MySportDab understands Real Betis are pushing to sign him either on another loan deal per permanent transfer, but will now have to beat the competition from Al-Nassr.
Antony is open to Man United exit and has reportedly agreed terms with Al-Nassr, per Teamtalk. However, United have yet to reach agreement with the Saudi contingents for the winger.
