Manchester United have thrown their weight again into the race to sign Victor Osimhen, MySportDab reports.

After his deadlock with Napoli at the end of the 2023-24 season, Osimhen has opened a glittering new chapter with Galatasaray.

With 26 Super Lig goals plus five assists, the Nigeria international led Galatasaray to their first league title in five years.

He also struck five times in the Turkish Cup, including a brace in the final against Trabzonspor to add the domestic silverware to his collection.

Before Galatasaray crashed out of the Europa League, Osimhen netted seven times in five matches, taking his overall tally with the club to 37 goals.

From his unceremonious Napoli exit from Napoli, the 26-year-old has rewritten the narrative at Galatasaray, proving himself as one of the best and elite strikers in the sport.

However, his future with the Turkish giants is enshrouded in uncertainties with his loan deal expiring this summer.

Manchester United have been long-time admirers of Osimhen since he led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 35 years, scoring a league-leading 26 goals to facilitate the triumph.

However, they backed off due to Napoli’s initial €100million asking price. This summer, they are now back in the race for the player.

According to The Athletic, United, who are desperately needing a top striker, are ready to go all in for Osimehn.

The report adds that the Red Devils are ready for a player-plus-cash offer to Napoli to secure Osimehn’s services with Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee mentioned in the swap deal.

Napoli currently values Osimehn at £65m and a swap deal could see a United peck the down the asking to their favour.

However, it is yet unclear whether the Serie A champions will accept the offer. Meanwhile, Osimehn remains ousted from Antonio Conte’s Napoli and will take a new challenge away from the club.

Saudi giants Al-Hilal led the race for the forward but have been rejected five times by the player who wants to continue his career in Europe.
