Liverpool target Florian Wirtz has broken silence on reports that he will take over the club’s no.10 should he join from Bayer Leverkusen, MySportDab reports.

The German midfield sensation is destined for a fresh challenge at Anfield with Liverpool.

Personal terms have been agreed by both parties with talks equally advancing on club terms with Leverkusen.

However, it is understood that Die Werkself have rejected Liverpool’s first two offers for the player – both in excess of €100million.

The Bundesliga side value Florian Wirtz at €150m with Liverpool expected to meet the asking price.

The Reds’ last bid was just €20million shy of the benchmark and they are expected to submit a third offer enough to close the deal.

Despite the drawbacks, Wirtz is expected to join the Reds soon with Liverpool likely to meet the Bundesliga’s sides price mark.

However, speculations have been rife on Wirtz’s place and perhaps shirt number when he moves to Anfield.

Some reports claim he will be handed the team’s iconic No.10 shirt which is currently being worn by Argentine midfield maestro and former Brighton star Mac Allister.

Reacting to the report, Wirtz debunked the rumours, making it clear he is not pushing to take the Reds’ No.10 shirt as he has immense respect for his teammates.

He discredited the report, calling on his audience to ignore it as it is baseless.

“Who says I want No.10? I respect players. Don’t believe everything what is written,” he wrote on IG.

Florian Wirtz accepted Liverpool’s project after assurances he will be the central figure in the Reds’ midfield going into the next campaign.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot considers the 22-year-old is key player suitable for his midfield roadmap for the Reds.
