Chelsea have doubled down on their attempt to acquire a new attacker this summer, MySportDab reports.

The Blues enjoyed a stellar European and domestic 2024-25 campaign, thanks to new manager Enzo Maresca’s cutting-edge revamp and changes in the squad.

However, the Italian tactician still want more reinforcements in the attack and the search for a new leg in the department had since gathered momentum.

They have been linked with an array of top-rated and elite forwards, but the closest and likely first addition is Borussia Dortmund and Bundesliga sensation Jamie Gittens.

They have agreed personal terms with the player for a seven-year contract.

Borussia Dortmund are open to Jamie Gittens transfer exit this summer but only at the right offer.

They want an offer in the range of €50m to €60million for the player and had rejected Chelsea’s €35million first bid.

Now, according to Fabrice Hawkins of RMCsports, Chelsea have now submitted their second bid – a €50million offer – to the Bundesliga side for the youngster.

It is yet unclear whether Dortumd will accept the offer, but Chelsea are optimistic of securing the deal for the player having nearly match his asking price.

Gittens, 20, has his career roots in English football. He joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020 from Manchester City Academy and rose through the ranks in The Prussians’ youth teams before his breakout in 2022.

The Reading-born sensation has since established himself as one of the finest young wingers in the German top flight. He has 17 goals in 106 appearances for Dortmund and could prove a good addition to the Blues attacking options for next season.
