Bayern Munich have qualified for the knockout rounds of the FIFA Club World Cup following a 2-1 victory over Argentine side Boca Juniors, MySportDab reports.

Former Crystal Palace and French attacker Michael Oliseh scored six minutes from regulation to secure all three points for the Bavarians.

As expected, it was largely a one-sided affair from the start with Bayern dominating proceedings. The Bundesliga champions, fresh off their thumping 10-0 opening win over Auckland City, looked set to cruise to another victory.

And it wasn’t long before they raced into the lead. Back-to-back Bundesliga Golden Boot winner Harry Kane struck in the 18th minute to give Vincent Kompany’s side the lead.

Despite taking the lead, they were still on the front foot going forward with Boca Juniors doing little to curtail their dominance.

Meanwhile, Kane’s goal was enough to secure a lead for the Bavarians going into the final 45.

In the second half, Boca Juniors pulled one back against the run of play as Miguel Merentien scored six minutes after the hour mark to tie the score.

After the equalizer Bayern Munich stepped up proceedings to retake the lead. However, they had to wait until the 84th minute before breaking the deadlock.

Michael Oliseh delivered the sucker punch strike to secure maximum points for the team and secure their place in the next round of the competition.

They will now play Benfica in their last match in the group phase in their next fixture while Boca Juniors take on Auckland City.
