Arsenal Confident of New Contract for Lewis-Skelly Amid Real Madrid Interest

Arsenal are reportedly hopeful that Myles Lewis-Skelly, a young star of the club, will renew his contract with the club rather than leaving for Madrid, MySportDab Reports.

After a breakthrough campaign, the 17-year-old midfielder completed his Premier League debut against Manchester City in September and scored in a 5–1 reverse fixture win that made news-points-of-interest, particularly for mocked celebration of signing pose with Erling Haaland, who in turn had dismissed him with a “Who are you?” earlier in the season.

Lewis-Skelly has since cemented his spot in Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans and has also been called up by the new England manager Thomas Tuchel.

With such exposure and form, Real Madrid have allegedly been keeping tabs on the situation amidst earlier supposed hiccups in contract negotiations.

Madrid, since years known to swoop in on players when their contracts are nearing an end, had taken interest when Lewis-Skelly and Arsenal had stalled in their talks.

The La Liga club would in similar circumstances sign Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba and now have their eyes on Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool.

Arsenal are now, however, said to be closing in with a long-term deal for Lewis-Skelly, with a reported huge pay raise attached, which would basically shut off Madrid’s advances.

The Gunners are also willing to be assassinated in other prime contract negotiation
