He was born November 10, 1984, in the United States. He grew up with his family in their hometown, Nederland, Texas.

His mother’s name is Ercell Minix. She was around until her death, which happened while Kendrick was a five-year-old.

He grew up with six siblings in a household that prized hard work and perseverance. Life wasn’t an easy one for him during his early days.

His siblings’ identities are less documented publicly. They all grew up together with their grandparents, who took responsibility.

His extended family includes his cousin Ethan Rusbatch, who plays professional basketball in New Zealand.

At age five, his mother was tragically killed by her best friend, an event that profoundly impacted his formative years.

His grandparents raised him on their farm following his mother’s death.  His father remained overseas and never returned to live with the family.

He attended a private Catholic school, where he balanced academics with athletics, playing baseball and football.

He later turned all his focus solely on Basketball by tenth grade. He enrolled at Clifton J. Ozen High School in Beaumont and graduated in 2003.

During his tenure, he led the Bulldogs to four consecutive district championships and a 33–1 record as a senior.

He was averaging 27.5 points, 16.4 rebounds, and 7.8 blocks per game during his time in High School before moving on.

Kendrick Perkins’s net worth was already growing while playing in High School, but his millions started coming later on.

His dominant performance earned him McDonald’s honors, First‑team Parade in 2003, and the title of Texas Mr. Basketball.

NBA Career

His professional life started with Basketball, but today he currently works as a sports analyst for ESPN.

He enjoyed a 15‑year NBA career defined by his defensive toughness and others which led to him earning a Championship ring.

He made his break straight out of high school in the 2003 draft; he spent eight seasons anchoring the Boston Celtics in the franchise’s 2008 title.

He also did enjoy stints with Oklahoma City, Cleveland, and New Orleans. He averaged 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game over his career.

He was chosen 27th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2003 NBA Draft. He was immediately traded to the Boston Celtics.

In his rookie season in 2003–04, he appeared in 79 games with 50 starts. He was hitting 4.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 21.0 minutes per contest.

Over the next three seasons, he helped the Celtics reach the Eastern Conference Finals in 2009 and the Finals again in 2010, though they fell to the Lakers both times.

In the 2010 playoff run, he averaged 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 24.3 minutes per game. In February 2011, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He was paired with Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden. He started 29 of 30 regular‑season games in 2010–11.

He played a key role in helping OKC reach the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history.

Over three seasons in Oklahoma City, he averaged 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. He contributed to another Conference Finals appearance in 2012.

He signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2014–15 season, where he provided veteran depth behind starters Tristan Thompson and Timofey Mozgov.

In 75 games, he nailed 5.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 18.9 minutes per contest. He was traded midseason in 2015–16 to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Kendrick Perkins’s net worth was around hitting a value of $20 million following his final stint in his playing career.

He finished his career as a role player focused on defense and mentorship, appearing in 94 games over three seasons with New Orleans before retiring in 2018.
