The Whites entered the final day level on 97 points with Burnley, but held a superior goal difference of +13.
The home side were already relegated but they aimed to spoil Leeds’s party in front of the home supporters at Home Park.
The hosts stunned the title contenders when Sam Byram inadvertently turned a Mustapha Bundu cross into his own net in the 18th minute, giving the home side a 1-0 lead.
Despite creating several set‑play opportunities, the visitors struggled to break down their opponent organised defence, with goalkeeper Mike Hazard making key saves to preserve the advantage until half‑time.
Daniel Farke’s side emerged with renewed intensity after the interval which was fueled with the halftime team talk.
Just eight minutes into the second half, Wilfried Gnonto superbly controlled a through‑ball and fired past Hazard to level the scores at 1-1, reigniting Leeds’s title hopes.
The visitors dominated possession thereafter, registering 77.5% possession and 25 shot attempts compared to Plymouth’s 6, but Hazard continued to frustrate the visitors with several fine saves.
With the title still up for grabs and Burnley leading at Millwall, Leeds pressed for a winner in added time.
In the first minute of stoppage time, Gnonto’s incisive pass found Manor Solomon, who danced past a defender before drilling an inch‑perfect finish into the bottom corner.
He scored sending the travelling fans into raptures and sealing the championship on goal difference at the end of everything with them finishing with 100 points.
