Chelsea Make Shock U-turn On Jadon Sancho Deal!

Chelsea have made a shock U-turn on their initial decision on Jadon Sancho, MySportDab reports.

Sancho joined the Blues last summer in his second loan spell as his Man United career continue to spiral downwards.

It hasn’t been a groundbreaking campaign for the English forward with the Blues but a decent one.

He has three Premier League goals plus four assists in 31 appearances for the club and was on the score sheet in a crucial 4-1 UEFA Conference League final victory over Real Betis in Poland on Wednesday.

Despite his optimal spell with the London club, he was still expected to leave when his loan spell expire this summer.

Sources close to Chelsea revealed the Blues have opted against keeping him on a permanent contract and are ready to pay a £5million fine to Man United to that effect.

Now, according to talkSport Chief Football Reporter, Alex Crook, the UEFA Conference League champions have made a u-turn on their initial transfer decision on Sancho.

The report adds they are ready to make Sancho’s loan deal permanent but on the condition that the player agrees to a reduction of his wages.

Sancho’s Man United weekly wage is £300,000. The two clubs agreed to split the wage by half as part of the loan agreement.

With a return of just three goals on 31 Premier League appearances, the Blues are likely to offer much less for a permanent contract.

It is yet unclear whether Sancho will settle for the new offer on slashed wages. He has been linked to Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund, having fallen off the pecking order in United’s squad.

The anticipation is still building on where he will stop next – a fate that will likely be determined by how far he could go to settle for a new wage offer by Chelsea.

Reece James is Chelsea’s highest-paid player with a weekly wage of €250,000. Given the salary peckings in the Blues squad, Sancho must be willing to accept between €200,000 to €150,000 weekly (Chelsea’s average weekly pay for elite players) if he wants to continue with the club.
