Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is set to become Brazil’s national team new manager, MySportDab reports.

Recall Brazil parted ways with their former head coach Dorivial Junior following an excruciating 4-0 defeat against arch-continental rivals Argentina in CONMEBOL 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

Since then, the search for a new manager has been on with top coaches prised for the role. Ancelotti was among priority candidates to succeed Dorivial Junior, but he had a one-year contract remaining with Real Madrid.

However, following Real Madrid’s underwhelming European and domestic run lately, sources close to the club reveal proceedings were underway for Ancelotti to be relieved of his role.

Meanwhile, it is understood Brazil delegation had stepped up their move to  bring on the 65-year-old as their new manager amidst reports that Real Madrid are open to his exit this summer.

However, there was a setback. Real Madrid couldn’t settle on exit terms for the Italian and European veteran manager and Brazil wanted him to resume as soon as possible.

While the Selecao agreed personal terms with Ancelotti for a deal, it was now left for Real Madrid to settle terms of his exit before he could join the South American giants.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have now agreed on Ancelotti’s exit plan. He is expected to leave at the end of the season before the 2025 FIFA World Cup.

This means he can resume immediately as Brazil new manager in the first week of June – a key condition that Brazil outlined before having him as their new manager.

This is a major breakthrough for Brazil who have been on the trail of Ancelotti since the start this season as a potential successor for Dorivial Junior.

However, they had reportedly turned attention to other available options like Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus following uncertainties over Real Madrid’s exit terms.

With all details now resolved, Ancelotti is set now set for his first managerial stint on the international scene with the Selecao.

He had only managed football clubs throughout his first-team managerial career and had only been in the coaching rank on the international as an assistant manager with Italy national team as the start of his career.
