Rodri is back to Manchester City training after a lengthy injury layoff, MySportDab reports.
In footage, which we have shared at the end of this post, showed the Spaniard training with his Man City teammates for the first time in over seven months.
The Ballon d’Or holder picked up a hamstring injury early in the season in a Premier League clash against Arsenal and was expected to miss the rest of the season.
However, sources close to the club revealed he is working hard to get fit and return to action ahead of time. Sky Sports confirmed his return in viral footage of his first training session with Man City teammates.
Notably, Rodri’s injury blow turned out to be Man City’s worst nightmare this season. Struggling to find a quality defensive midfielder in the mold and character of the 2024 Euros winner was infeasible.
They have struggled both on the domestic and European scene as a result, falling off in the Premier League title race and are battling for a top-five finish. They also crashed out of the Champions League, losing to Real Madrid in the knockout play-offs.
With a huge chunk of the season far spent, Rodri is expected to play a crucial role in the run-ins. However, it is yet unclear when he will return to the starting lineup, but is expected to be available for the team’s next Premier League fixture against Wolves on Friday.
He will also be a big addition to the team as they prepare for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in August in the USA.
