Arsenal manager Mikel has sent a message to the club’s fans ahead of their 2024-25 Champions League semi-final clash against PSG on Tuesday, MySportDab reports.
The Gunners will trade tackles with the Ligue 1 champions in what is expected to be a rollercoaster UCL semi-final first leg at the Emirates.
Notably, Arsenal defeated Luis Enrique’s side 2-0 in the league phase of the competition. However, they are expected to face a tough task against the Ligue 1 giants who have improved immensely since then.
Ahead of the match, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has sent a message to all the Gunners fans, urging them to come out en masse to support the team.
“I wanna tell our fans that against PSG they have to play every ball with us”.
“Bring your boots, your shinpads, your shorts, your T-shirts!”.
“Let’s play on Tuesday night all together here to have one of the most amazing nights at the Emirates,” he said after their 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Tuesday as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Arsenal saw off defending champions Real Madrid with an impressive 5-1 aggregate victory to secure their place in the last four.
The London club won the first leg 3-0 against the La Liga and European giants and then went to the Bernabeu in the second leg to secure a shock 2-1 away win.
Since the surprising back-to-back win over Real Madrid, Arsenal have been tipped as favourites to win the competition. The closest they came to snatching the coveted club trophy in Europe was in the 2005/06 campaign where they lost Barcelona.
PSG defeated Aston Villa 5-4 on aggregate to qualify for the last four and have yet to lift the Champions League trophy. They reached the final in 2020 and lost to Bayern Munich.
The two teams, who have yet to win the title, will have a chance to reach the final again when they square up in the next two weeks and possibly end their deadlock with a win in the final.
