Manchester City will trade tackles with La Liga and European champions Real Madrid in a seething Champions League knockout playoffs today, MySportDab reports.

It promises to be a rollercoaster as the two teams lock horns in the most anticipated match of the day.

Notably, over the years, the two teams have emerged as unrivalled powerhouses in European club football and the matchup promises nothing less than a thriller.

In the 2022-23 campaign, City knocked out the Carlo Ancelotti-led side in the semi-final and went ahead to win the title for the first time.

In the following campaign, Los Blancos avenged the loss, knocking out the Premier League champions in the quarterfinals to reach the last four and subsequently win the competition.

With the precedents in the past two editions of the tournament, it is believed the two teams have a strong chance of winning the competition but are now left to learn their fate at the early stages of the knockout.

The match will be the 15th time they have clashed with City winning five, drawing five, and losing four.

City have also scored more goals than the La Liga champions in the 14 meetings, netting 26 times, and conceding 23.

Our Prediction for the match

Man City are treading a rough patch going to the match. Unlike the previous campaign, they have struggled domestically and in Europe but will hope to turn a corner away from the deadlock going into the match.

Real Madrid have a relatively better campaign this term than the Premier champions. They are top of the La Liga but didn’t pull an impressive performance in Europe.

It is going to be a tight affair but proceedings are likely to end in a draw with both teams finding the back of the net. Our prediction for the match is a 2-2 draw
