Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has broken his silence on reports linking him to a summer exit from the club, MySportDab reports.
The Italian and European football veteran dominated the headlines on Monday, January 21, 2025, with various Spanish outlets claiming he has decided to step down as Real Madrid manager at the end of the ongoing season.
The report, which was also carried by renowned transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, claimed the former AC Milan and Chelsea boss is ready to call it a quit with Real Madrid despite recently putting pen to paper on a new contract.
Recall the 65-year-old signed a new two-year contract with Los Blancos after leading the team to a record-extending 15th Champions League and 36th La Liga title last season.
With the full backing and confidence of the club’s hierarchy, he easily secured the new deal and was expected to continue in the dugout till 2026.
However, the exit report came like a bolt from the blue, undermining the new deal and claiming the legendary footballer manager will wrap up his spell with the La Liga giants at the end of the season.
Now, in a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti has come out to debunk the report, clearing the air that he will run out his contract with the club and possibly sign a new one to continue after 2026.
“I’ve absolutely NOT decided to leave Real Madrid… I hope to stay for FOUR more years, same as president Florentino Pérez”.
“That would be perfect in order to do a big farewell together in 2029,” he said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“I feel loved by everyone here at Real Madrid. Club, fans, also by the media. Sometimes people is exaggerating but my feeling is clear, I feel loved,” he added.
Ancelotti joined Real Madrid in 2022 and has led the team to Champions League and La Liga titles. MySportDab understands he has the backing of the club’s hierarchy following an impressive three-year run in his return.
