Despite being overshadowed by rookie phenom Caitlin Clark and reigning MVP A’Ja Wilson this season.

This point guard played five seasons with the Oregon Ducks before being selected by the Liberty as the first overall choice in the 2020 WNBA draft.

Although she has only been a part of the league for five years, Ionescu has already won the WNBA Three-Point Shootout in 2023 and has been selected to three consecutive All-WNBA Second Teams.

She has also been nominated to three consecutive All-Star teams. As a result of her sponsorship arrangement with Nike, Ionescu owns a signature shoe, making her the twelfth WNBA player to do so.

She got engaged before the 2023 season when she signed her shoe contract and won the Three-Point content. In March of 2024, Ionescu and her long-term lover, Hroniss Grasu, were married.

Grasu played collegiate football for the Ducks before the NFL selected him.

Ionescu started classes the following year, in 2016, at the same institution. She played basketball for the Ducks and got her bachelor’s degree in three years.

Grasu and Ionescu were both general social science majors. Grasu is a free-agent offensive lineman in the National Football League.

He went to Oregon from 2010 to 2014 until the Bears selected him in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

After playing with the Bears for three years, he began to bounce about the NFL, most notably with the Dolphins, Ravens, Titans, 49ers, and Raiders.

Grasu, like Ionescu, was born in Northridge, California, in 1991 to parents of Romanian origin.

He entered college as a three-star center and earned All-American honors in 2013 and 2014.

The Rimington Trophy, given annually to the top center in the nation, was another honor for which he was nominated.

Stefan and Mariana Grasu welcomed their son Hronis into the world. They have ancestry from Romania.

After emigrating to the United States, the Greco family arrived in 1982 and, on Hollywood Boulevard, established Greco’s New York Pizzeria.

A former Las Vegas Raiders’ roster member, Hroniss Grasu is now an NFL player.

Playing collegiate football at Oregon University, he was named to the first-team All-American twice (2013, 2014).

He was also named first-team All-Pac-12 three times (2012, 2013, and 2014), and second-team All-Freshman once (2011).

He joined the NFL and was released in November 2018 from his position after being picked by the Chicago Bears in the 2015 NFL Draft with the 71st selection.

His career in the NFL began after leaving the Bears and continued with stops with the Miami Dolphins.

He played for the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Tennessee Titans, and Las Vegas Raiders.

Grasu officially becomes a free agent in September 2024. He was selected to the All-Pac-12 first and All-American teams in 2013.

Grasu made it to the Rimington Trophy finals twice (2013) and (2014).

In 2015, Hroniss’s professional career kicked off as the Chicago Bears chose him in the third round of the NFL Draft with the 71st overall selection.

After two seasons with the team, his departure from the Chicago Bears came on September 2, 2018.

Thanks to the transfer, he was able to reconnect with Kyle Long, a college teammate.

As of his release on November 24, 2018, he has appeared in three games after being signed by the Baltimore Ravens on September 24, 2018.

The Miami Dolphins signed Grasu on December 12, 2021, but cut ties with him nine days later.

After that, on February 7, 2019, he was signed by the Tennessee Titans. There were three signings and releases of Grasu before his ultimate release on December 3.

This time, he reconnected with Marcus Mariota, a teammate from college, as he moved to the Tennessee Titans.

The San Francisco 49ers signed him in August 2020 after the Baltimore Ravens claimed him off waivers.

After stints with six football clubs, Hroniss Grasu is now a free-agent center with the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. Grasu’s professional football career has been fruitful.
