Netherlands survived a late scare by Turkey to secure a slot in the last four of Euro 2024, thanks to a stunning second-half comeback that secured victory, MySportDab reports.

Turkey went into the game as underdogs but nearly pulled an upset right from the first half. Real Madrid young attacking sensation hd set up Alkaydin with a powerful outswinger.

Left unmarked in the opponent’s box, Alkaydin towered above all to head home a stunning 35th-minute goal and put Turkey in front. After conceding,  Netherlands ramped attempts to find an equaliser but it was still a deadlocked 15 minutes for the star-studded.

Turkey committed more bodies to the low block to soak up pressure and counter-balance the opponents fiery offensives. The resolute defensive strategy worked out as they secured the goal and went into the break with the lead.

In the second half, the first 25 minutes saw Netherlands struggle to find a leveler. Meanwhile, Turkey, who continued with their defensive play, were posing attacking threats when breaking on counter attacks.

After a barren start to the half, Netherlands finally broke the goal deadlock finding a leveler in the 70th minute, thanks to a goal by De Vrij.

With the scores tied, Turkey started breaking out of the low block for a more offensive play but the move backfired as Netherlands latched on the next big chance to complete the comeback.

Muldur scored the second goal which turned out to be the match-winner to see off the Ronald Koeman-led side to the last four of the tournament.

They will take on England in the semi-final with the winner set to clash with either France or Spain in the final.
