Liverpool have reached an agreement with Feyenoord to sign Arne Slot as the club’s new manager, MySportDab reports.

Slot, 45, emerged as a top candidate to replace exit-bound Jurgen Klopp after the Reds suffered setbacks in their move for former player and Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso.

Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim was also in the fray of shortlisted options to replace Klopp but the Portuguese fell out of favour in the Reds’ radar after he went to negotiate with rival Premier League side West Ham.

We reported earlier Liverpool turned attention to Slot immediately after the setbacks with Alonso and Amorim and talks was on the fast lane for a deal to be agreed for the Dutch.

Meanwhile, the Reds’ first proposal for Feyenoord for Slot was turned down by the club who reportedly pecked their compensation fee for the 45-year-old at ÂŁ10m.

Slot had a year remaining on his Feyenoord contract and had no release clause on his contract.

It was left for Liverpool to foot the ÂŁ10m compensation fee demanded by the Dutch outfit and strike a deal for the Eredivisie winner.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, the two parties have reached agreement for Slot with Liverpool agreeing to pay ÂŁ9.7m for the football manager.

MySportDab understands Liverpool and Arne Slot had settled personal terms with the Dutch open to a move to Anfield as the new manager.

The highly-rated Dutch tactician was already ecstatic about the imminent big leap in his career while Liverpool were on the negotiation table with Feyenoord.

When asked about a potential move to the Merseyside outfit, he said it would be ‘crazy’ not to accept a move to a big club as Liverpool.

With the doors to his Anfield move cleared Slot will now take over from Jurgen Klopp, who has only four games left to draw the curtains on his nine-year stint with the Reds.

The anticipation is building and the expectations are high for Slot as he prepares to take over the dugout at Anfield.

Slot emerged into the limelight after he won his first silverware as manager with Feyenoord last season, leading the team to the Eredivisie title.

He has added the KNVB Cup to his kit this season and will face a high-stakes challenge recreating the feat in a the Pemier League with Liverpool.
