The Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, delivered an impassioned charge to Nigeria’s contingent set to participate in the 13th African Games held in Ghana, MySportDab Reports.

Addressing the athletes before their departure from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the Minister rallied the team, urging them to strive for victory and conquer the African stage.

Expressing unwavering support from the nation, Senator Enoh assured the athletes that the entire country stood firmly behind them in their quest for glory.

Emphasizing the significance of the tournament, he highlighted the opportunity it presented for both seasoned and debutant athletes to showcase their talent and bring honor to Nigeria.

With a keen eye on surpassing past achievements, Senator Enoh encouraged the departing athletes to uphold the nation’s legacy of excellence in sports.

He reminded them of the weight of responsibility they carried as representatives of Nigeria, urging them to deliver a performance that would elevate the country to the pinnacle of African sports.

Addressing practical concerns, the Minister pledged the timely disbursement of all allowances owed to the athletes, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting their endeavors without any obstacles hindering their progress.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s commendable performance in the previous edition of the African Games, held in Rabat, Morocco in 2019, where the nation secured a second-place finish with an impressive haul of 46 gold medals, 33 silver medals, and 48 bronze medals, Senator Enoh expressed optimism for an even stronger showing this time around.

As Nigeria’s contingent embarks on their journey to Ghana, they carry not only the hopes and dreams of their fellow citizens but also the support and encouragement of the government.

With Senator John Owan Enoh’s words echoing in their minds, the athletes are poised to give their all, aiming to bring glory to Nigeria and emerge victorious in the 13th African Games.
