Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez shone again as they rallied Inter Miami back to a 2-2 draw against Nashville in the CONCACAF Champions Cup round-16 first-leg at Geodis Park, MySportDab reports.

Inter Miami went down by two goals and were teetering on the brink of crashing out of the competition before Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez came to the rescue.

Nashville star Jacob Shaffelburg had given the hosts the lead in the 4th minute before bagging his brace to secure the lead in the first minute of the second half.

Six minutes after Nashville’s second goal, Lionel Messi rose to the occasion, scoring in the 52nd minute to halve the deficit and restore comeback hopes.

Inter Miami With the scores standing at 2-1 in the final few minutes, the visitors pushed harder for an equaliser. And they nearly lost it before Luis Suarez scored a 95th-minute header at the death to salvage a draw.

The draw has earned Inter Miami a decent advantage as they head into the second-leg of the encounter next week, thanks to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez’s brilliance.

Messi and Suarez have now taken their combined goal contributions for Inter Miami this season to 12 in their first four games for the club.

Lionel Messi has four goals and an assist for the club while Luis Suarez has 3 goals and 4 assists. The pair will be hoping to continue on their prolific start to life for the Florida-based club this season.
