Chelsea women’s team is in crisis over a recent comment made by the team’s manager Emma Hayes on player-to-player relationships, MySportDab reports.

Regarded as one of the best-assembled women’s football clubs in England and Europe, the Women’s Super League giants are teetering on the brink of a colossal disaster.

Jess Carter and Katrin Berger

Manager Emma Hayes sparked the row when she made an infamous remark discrediting romantic relationships between players in the squad.

Speaking on Thursday, Emma Hayes, who is bound to leave the club at the end of the season, said romantic relationships between players is inimical to the progress of women’s football teams, and generally women’s football.

Emma Hayes’ comment comes amidst strings and clusters of romantic relationships between some members of the Chelsea squad.

The highly-rated manager apparently throw stones into the ranks of some Chelsea players who are reportedly dating their teammates.

Chelsea women defender Jess Carter, who is known to be dating teammate, Katrin Berger, is not having it with Emma Hayes’ comment.

Taking to her social media handle, Jess Carter liked a social media post that described Emma Hayes’ comment on romantic relationships between female footballers in the same teams as ‘beyond bonkers.’

Journalist Beth Fisher had wrote: ”It is beyond bonkers to bring player-to-player relationships into this conversation in my opinion.’

To register her disapproval of the her coach Emma Hayes’ comment, Jess Carter liked the post, sending a message to Hayes that she doesn’t care.

The differences of opinion between the player and her manager have already generated fears the team could be in disarray ahead of their top-of-the-table Super League clash with Arsenal.

While Jess Carter is free to explore her romantic choices, Emma Hayes believes player-to-player relationships in women’s football are ‘inappropriate’ and should be discouraged.
