Paul Pogba has released an official statement addressing the decision of the National Antidoping Tribunal inItaly to ban him from football for four years, MySportDab reports.

Pogba, 30, bagged the career-ending ban after he tested positive for testosterone twice 2023. With evidence s on the table, Pogba has insisted he never intentionally used the said substance to boost his performance – a narrative his lawyers have cling on to mitigate the duration of his ban all to no avail.

The prosecution refused to believe Pogba did not intentionally used the substance, hence the maximum four-year ban that will certainly bring his career to a halt.

Pogba has remained inflexible on his position that he never intended to use the substance for performance and has described the decision of the tribunal as “incorrect.”

In an official statement addressing the ban, Pogba revealed he has been devastated by the imminent harm the ban will do to his hard-earned career, hence his decision to take a step further to prove his innocence by appealing the decision.

Pogba’s full official statement reads;

“I have today been informed of the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping’s decision and believe that the verdict is incorrect.

I am sad, shocked and heartbroken that everything I have built in my professional playing career has been taken away from me.

“When I am free of legal restrictions the full story will become clear, but I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations.

“As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against.

“As a consequence of the decision announced today I will appeal this before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.”
