Victor Osimhen has penned down a new contract with Napoli amid reports linking him to a move to the Premier League, MySportDab reports.
We reported earlier Osimhen had agreed to extend his deal with Napoli after a sensational campaign with the Serie A club last season.
Now, the Nigeria striker has signed all document to extend his stay with the Neapolitans in a big boost to Napoli and a blow to clubs interested in a move to the player.
As per Fabrizio Romano, the 24-year-old’s new extension agreement will see continue for one more year with Napoli when his previous contract expires.
Osimhen’s contract with Napoli was set to run out 2025 but he will now stay at the club till 2026.
As part of the new deal, Napoli have agreed to increase his wages. Osimhen’s current wage package from Napoli is €250,000 weekly.
A new release clause of €130m has also been confirmed as part of the new deal.
Osimhen’s contract renewal comes amidst a strong interest by Chelsea on the player. The Blues were reportedly ready for a January swoop for the player.
With a new release clause of €130m, it is still unclear whether Chelsea will continue in their pursuit of the player.
Should the Blues maintain their push for the player, a deal could see Victor Osimhen become one of the most expensive Premier League player.
Meanwhile, the release clause will be active from January 2024 when the transfer window opens.
