Despite not being able to show too much playing for Paris Saint Germain, he had a wonderful World Cup which Argentina won.
Meanwhile favorite Erling Haaland could end up winning the award as he has been on top form going on to become highest goal scorer.
His form for Manchester City saw them going on a streak that won them the treble for the first time in their history.
They won the Champions League, Premier League and Emirates FA Cup all in one season which was wonderful.
Erling Haaland played a huge role in winning those competition and also finishing as the highest goal scorer.
Kevin De Bruyne make up the list of nominees as he will be going up against his teammate who they both made history together last season.
Manchester City have also added the UEFA Super Cup to their cabinet making it 15 trophies under Pep Guardiola who is expected to add one more.
They get to feature at the FIFA Club World Cup later and have another chance of adding one of the biggest of them all to make it complete.
The award for best male player will be announce during the draws for the UEFA Champions League group stages in August 31st.
