Manchester United have received a major boost in their pursuit of Fiorentina midfield sensation and Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat, MySportDab reports.

Erik Ten Hag has been a big admirer of the Morocco 2022 World Cup hero and has made moves to bring him to Old Trafford this summer.

Sofyan Amrabat is open to a move to Manchester United an has agreed personal terms with the club but United have to talk through a deal with Fiorentina to sign the prolific midfielder.

According to reports, Manchester United are closing in on a deal for Amrabat after ‘secret talks’ between the club and Fiorentina.

Representatives of both clubs have reportedly been in secret talks devoid of the prying eyes of the media for Amrabat.

There has been progress in the talks but a major boost to Manchester United’s attempt to sign the midfielder is the departure of one of the club’s player Gaetano Castrovilli, who has just completed a move to Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Fiorentina were previously preoccupied with Castrovilli move but will now settle fully for Amrabat talks with Manchester United, Italian journalist, Alfredo Perulla tweeted.

Sofyan Amrabat impressed with Morocco national team manning the midfield as the Atlas Lions bundled out Portugal in the quarterfinals to become the first African country to reach the semifinal of the 2022 World Cup.

He will become the second top signing to join Manchester United this summer after the club completed the signing of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.

Manchester United are yet to table an offer for the player but are set to table their first proposal as Atalanta settles fully for talks.
