Fulham have bundled out Tottenham from EFL Cup after battling to a 5-3 win on penalties after a 1-1 draw, MySportDab reports.

Tottenham Hotspur went into the game on the backdrop of a brilliant Premier League run under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Since taking over as Tottenham Hotspur new manager, the affable Aussie has made light of Harry Kane’s Tottenham exit, leading Spurs to two consecutive Premier League victories and a draw.

His notable Premier League win was the Matchday two 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and had followed the win with another 2-0 victory over Bournemouth.

Ange Postecoglou has garnered 7 points from his three Premier League matches and was yet to be defeated before the EFL Cup clash against Fulham.

Tottenham dominated proceedings in the game against Fulham but were dealt an early first half blow when Van de Ven scored an own goal in the 29th minute to give Fulham the lead.

The away side fought back earnestly looking for an equaliser but could not level the scores before the first half break as Fulham held on to the narrow lead.

Early in the second half, Richarlison salvage the situation for Spurs in the 56th minute, scoring the leveler to give Tottenham a chance in the game.

Both sides struggle to take the lead with Fulham also making attempt to return to the lead but it all ended squares after the final whistle with the game heading into penalties.

Fulham converted all their five penalties without missing any while Sanchez missed his spotkick for Tottenham as Fulham ran out with a 5-3 win to progress to the next round on EFL Cup while Tottenham crash out
