Chelsea are finally set to snap up Moises Caicedo from Brighton this summer as they have reportedly tabled a record fifth offer for the player, MySportDab reports.

The Blues survive Liverpool’s late attempt to hijack the deal: thanks to Moises Caicedo’s decision to stick to his desire to join the London club instead of Liverpool.

The Merseysiders, led by Jurgen Klopp, made a late night swoop for Moises Caicedo, submitting a record £110m to Brighton to sign the player.

Brighton readily accepted the offer but Liverpool faced a uphill task negotiating with Caicedo on personal terms as the Ecuadorian told them he is only interested in a move to Chelsea.

Caicedo’s rejection of Liverpool advances was a big blow to the club who are looking to revamp their midfield after losing the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, with Thiago Alcantara also rumored to be on the exit lane from Anfield.

Following Caicedo’s decision, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Liverpool are ready to walk off from the move with Chelsea now again on the race to sign the Ecuadorian midfield sensation.

According to English football journalist Nathan Gissing, Chelsea have tabled a record £115m offer for Moises Caicedo, £10m more than what Liverpool offered for the player.

It is understood Brighton will have accept the offer and Caicedo will be heading to Stamford Bridge in a matter of hours or days.

He has already agreed personal terms with the club since May and is eager to complete a switch as soon as possible.
