Lisandro Martinez’s injury update has been confirmed, MySportDab reports

The 2022 World Cup winner suffered a fracture in his metartasal bone in Manchester United’s Europa League clash against Sevilla in April.

He was ruled out for the rest of the season and had undergone surgery on the injury.

With the season coming to an end, Lisandro Martinez is nearing his full recovery.

However, Daily Mail reports Lisandro Martinez will miss Argentina tour of Asia in the summer as he concentrate on getting fit for Manchester United.

According to reports he has been recovering slowly from the injury after surgery but will not be available to play for Argentina in the summer.

The 2022 World Cup champions have two games in the summer against Indonesia and China and were expecting the Manchester United defender to join the tour.

Manchester United have felt the absence of Lisandro Martinez in the squad.

After Lisandro Martinez was hurled off against Sevilla due to the injury, Manchester United conceded two late goals to draw Sevilla.

They lost the second leg 3-0 and crashed out of the tournament.

They also suffered a Premier League defeat to Brighton which has impacted the team’s top four race.

Before injury, Lisandro Martinez was a key member of Erik Ten Hag’s first team.

He made 27 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils scoring one goal.

He played in all 10 Manchester United Europa games and made 5 appearance in the EFL Cup.

He will return nextseason and is making speedy recovery on his injury. However, he is set to miss international action in the summer to aid his full recovery and return to full fitness.
