Manchester City are winners of the 2022/23 Premier League title as Arsenal suffer defeat at City Ground, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
Nottingham Forest got the game underway with a great start backed by their roaring home fans.
The Tricky Trees made early push for a goal but were held off by the Gunners.
After an early swathe of good possession, Arsenal began to register their presence in the game from the 10th minute.
Gabriel Jesus came close to putting the Gunners in the lead after he headed back Aurier’s clearance towards the back post following Saka’s inswinging corner but the ball flew over the post.
Gabriel Jesus also attempted a strike on goal after being fed by Thomas Partey but his shot was blocked.
Arsenal continue to dominate proceedings going forward but were hit in the 19th minute with Nigeria international, Taiwo Awoniyi, with the opening goal for Nottingham Forest.
The Gunners conceded the cheap goal after Martin Oddegard mistakenly pass the ball to Gibbs-White who then break on a quick counter before feeding a throughball to Awoniyi on the right inside the Arsenal box to volley home Nottingham Forest’s opener.
The goal was enough to secure a first-half lead for Nottingham Forest but Arsenal risked handing the Premier League trophy to Manchester City on a platter should they suffer a shock defeat at City Ground.
The first half ended with Nottingham Forest maintaining the narrow 1-0 lead.
Second Half Report
Arsenal ramped up attempts to find an equaliser as the second half began.
Nottingham Forest were pressed deep into their own half but were not breaking.
The Tricky Trees still had a handful of efforts upfront but could not double the lead with Arsenal pressing down their neck as the game hit 70th minute.
It was still Nottingham Forest leading by a goal to nil with less than 29 minutes left on the clock.
Both sides made late substitutions but Nottingham Forest held on to grab a 1-0 win after the final whistle to gift Manchester City their 6th Premier League title.
