BREAKING! Qatar, Sir Jim Ratcliffe Submit 2nd BIDS For Manchester United Takeover (Details)

Qatar and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have now both submitted their new bids for the Manchester United takeover, MySportDab reports.

However, there was a problem with the timing last night as the initial deadline for second bids passed.

Representatives of the Qatar and Sir Jim Ratcliffe said that their offers were submitted before the 9pm deadline.

But, Manchester United sources denied that a bid from either parties were received and so the deadline was extended beyond 9pm.

The offers around £5bn would represent a world record fee paid for a sports club and all offers were given a 9pm deadline by the US bank in charge of the sale.

According to Fabrizio Romano, no new deadline has been set and more offers will come in over the next few days.

Both Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani’s group and Ratcliffe’s Ineos firm are not willing to pay more than what the club is worth.

Sheikh Jassim is more committed to the bid and keen for success, despite last night’s scenes.

Sources close to the Qatar-based bid believe their offer will be best for the club, and the fans.

These are the only two groups really keen for a complete takeover of the club and this won’t give the Glazers the chance to raise the price into a bidding war.

MySportDab understands that there remains some gap between the bids submitted and what the Glazers wanted.

United’s current owners are seeking more than £6bn, which is unreasonable for a sports club.

Various factors will prevent that from becoming a reality as the Old Trafford stadium still needs more investment to improve its standard with an estimated cost of £1bn to £2bn.
