PSG CONFIRM Neymar To Miss The Rest Of The Season!

PSG has confirmed Neymar will miss the rest of the season following his ankle injury, MySportDab reports.

In a French Ligue 1 comeback win over Lille on February 20, Neymar picked up an ankle injury in the heated clash at Parc Des Princes.

He was stretchered off the pitch in tears, forcing Christophe Galtier to subbed him off.

The Brazil international missed two French Ligue 1 fixtures for the Ligue 1 giants after the injury.

It was thought he will return to the squad at least after the Champions League round 16 second-leg tie against Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena.

However, it has now been confirmed Neymar will miss the rest of the season following examinations of the ankle injury by PSG medics.

The sad news is a major blow for both Christoph Galtier who is having his job on the line in the Bayern Munich Vs PSG Champions League return leg and PSG fans as well who had hoped to have Neymar back to the pitch this season.

In an official statement released by PSG confirming the sad development, the club confirms Neymar will be sidelined for months and will miss the rest of the season.

The statement reads;

“Following his last sprain contracted on February 20, the medical staff … recommended a ligament repair operation to avoid a major risk of recurrence.

“All the experts consulted have confirmed this necessity and A delay of three to four months is expected before his return to training.”

The club confirmed Neymar will be flown to Doha in Qatar for his surgery following the Injury.

Before the injury, Neymar was prolific for PSG so far this season.

He had scored 13 goals and bagged 11 assists helping the club stay on top of the French Ligue 1 table and reach round 16 of the Champions League.
