Manchester United Coach Erik Ten Hag has now given an update on Mason Greenwood’s situation, MySportDab reports.
Since his arrival at Manchester United, Erik ten Hag faces one of his biggest challenges.
The decision about if Mason Greenwood should be allowed to play for United ever again was a major topic at Ten Hag’s press conference.
The United manager refused to get involved with an issue.
Three times he was asked by reporters and he gave them the same response back.
Ten Hag will be part of the hierarchy that determines what the club should do with Greenwood.
While the club could use another player, they must consider the risks of backlash from fans and sponsors.
Ten Hag could do with a little more depth, and as we all know Greenwood is a natural scorer of goals.
Now, He may consider that a return for the 21-year-old is risky.
While making clear that he won’t talk about Greenwood, Ten Hag was happy to discuss new culture at Old Trafford.
‘It’s important but sometimes there are issues that the club must deal with it,’ said Ten Hag.
‘We have standards. We have to live within high standards and values.’
Greenwood was not at training at Carrington yesterday and will not be at Old Trafford today when United face Crystal Palace.
‘I can’t say anything about Greenwood,’ he said.
‘I can’t add anything to what the club’s statement has already said.’
Nevertheless, this is a topic that could cause many problems for Manchester United if the wrong decision is made.
